Text Too Large in PhotoShop CS3

Guys, I am trying to do stuff but, despite the size of font I pick, even 6pt, the font is still too large.
An ex-mate was at it the other day so I presuming he changed some setting somewhere but I can't figure it out.

Even if I pick Ariel size 6, it comes out like 14+

Anyone got any ideas what's happening here?
I don't talk to the guy anymore so can't ask what changes he made.

change the res when creating a new document, I had this problem only this morning when I scanned in a very high quality image.

He had the resolution set at like 350 when it should be around 72, which is what I had it set to before.

350 will make for a better pic. :p just remember to zoom out to about 50% or less to get the actual size. helps to have rulers enabled.
