From their site:
Requirements

In order to assure a comforting environment to all visitors Proxr requires you to adhere to quality standards. Your proxy should have a link to your Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy. Every proxy hosted by Proxr has to have a working abuse contact listed on your proxy site. All proxy sites must be entirely in English. You do not collect user email addresses or other peronal data.
Proxr will add banner advertisments to the proxied pages of your proxy. For that reason you can not put banners on proxied pages. In the event of high traffic or high server load Proxr may also show pop-unders/pop-ups in order to control traffic.

I love that - add traffic to control it LOL, the transfer amount did raise a smile and an eyebrow too :D

Hi Decker,

even though I thought you have experience it seems otherwise, at least with regards to advertising. If you like to explain how adding pop-ups will increase traffic to our servers - please do so.

Here is how it works: load (and #of requests) are checked every few seconds. As soon as load is over 4 our ad code changes to display pop-ups. That usually tends to drive away people. The pop-ups are -of course- served from external ad companies, they do not lead to any increase of either server load or traffic. This setup works quite well.

For people having doubts about the traffic: You may have noticed that we increase the BW allotment from time to time (for instance 500GB to 2.5TB recently). Why? We go with what people have used, not some lofty imaginary number.

Of course people will doubt the above again. But hey, life is good for us.

Please, please challenge us!

firstly, don't thank me, and my name's Adam, not Mr Adz, get used to it...

Secondly, I don't believe you have 2.5TB I mean ok yeah its knowing it possible, but that's my opinion. Also the fact you don't let people advertise on their own proxies is just daft... Not recommended

Hi Adz, do you always give suggestions based on no experience?
For the 2.5TB: some people just think small. (That was predicted above.)
For the ads: did you comprehend the text you took from our site and posted here? (Hint: Where does it say you can't have your ads on your proxy?)

No experience? That's a rather unfortunate assumption to make. Since the comments Ive read of Adz are typically spot on.

You asked where it says you can't have your own ads on the proxied pages...umm Proxr will add banner advertisments to the proxied pages of your proxy. For that reason you can not put banners on proxied pages. When did banners stop being ads?

As for the 2.5 Tb bw, do you have any stats to show that indeed this is a reliable offer? Many past hosts have attempted to offer excessive bw, they never lasted and the overzealous/overanxious owners are remembered for being short sighted. (And usually mad fun of for months)

Sorry, Adz's comments made far more sense than your claim. PROVE him wrong instead of attacking him. Such actions puts your hosting into a BAD light and your reputation is ALL you have. To put it bluntly: Who wants to do business with a host who can't put up because he can't shut up?

Dear Belladonna,
You asked where it says you can't have your own ads on the proxied pages
Did I? I don't recall and don't see it in my posts. I never talked about proxified pages, neither did Adz.

No experience? That's a rather unfortunate assumption to make. Since the comments Ive read of Adz are typically spot on. That may be (and I believe you here), however afaik he has no account with proxr and therefore no experience with our service.

For you I'll put up some stats. I'll show you:
1. A server BW graph for one month, showing ~16TB traffic
2. An alexa screenshot of a proxy which shows country rank in the 1,xxx range and huge traffic
3. A screenshot showing 1,000,000 unique visitors. Yes, 1 Mill unique visitors.
(Please understand that we can't show domain names in those stats)

Now please excuse me for a while and let me get that ready.

No, no one's talking about proxied anything. Not at all. Never mentioned at all since the beginning of time...or this thread. Its just mentioned in your requirements and in Adz's quoted material.

Great stats, I'm jealous. How do you know Adz doesn't have an account? Or isn't trying out your service as we speak?

Next time please don't double post.

It is proxy hosting - which has abuse potential. For that reason people get scrutinized quite a bit.
