----ing depressing the movie Boyz n the Hood (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boyz_n_the_Hood) is. I just saw it for the first time in about 4 years. Christ.

Ever see Kids? For some reason, that movie was the first thing I thought of when you brought up boys in the hood. They're in no way related.

Ever see Kids? For some reason, that movie was the first thing I thought of when you brought up boys in the hood. They're in no way related.

One of the most honest, interesting movies I have ever seen. I had to take three showers afterwards just from how dirty I felt, but damn, that movie made an impression.

BntH is just ----ing sad. I can't even properly describe how depressing it is. I'm going to go watch American History X to cheer myself up now.

Boyz n the Hood
Boyz n the Hood reminded me of one of my friends. He was a Crip, and one day he just disappeared. We weren't like best friends, but we skated together, smoked together, etc. It's strange to just one day not see someone at school, their phone doesn't pick up, and never see them again. I think he either died or got arrested for something crazy. Not necessarily related to the plot of the movie, but Ricky and Doughboy dying prematurely made me think of it. Probably part of the reason I got so depressed over the movie.
