When taking screenshots take them in jpg or gif format but not as a bmp.

ICQ sometimes causes problems... server overloads...

When it occurs I suggest reinstalling Windows. You may have registry errors which cause programs to malfunction, but then again I don't speak from certainy.

I guess ICQ Lite uses some kind of plug-in?

My guess would be, you don't have that plug-in on your computer or you don't have access to it.

I stopped using ICQ about a year ago because they made you store your contact list on your computer. That was useless for me. I believe this has now changed.
