A hardware failure causes them to file bankruptcy?? Well, let's see now...to do a bankruptcy you need a lawyer. Lawyers cost money. They can pay a lawyer, but cant fix the harware. Am I missing something here??

Why don't you contact your credit card company and demand a chargeback? Chargebacks cost a company loads of cash so it would be sweet revenge. ;)
