I'm just looking for some alternatives and all the options. I know of WHMCS and ClientExec; anything else?

Thanks,

Tang

try modernbill. I would say WHMCS is your best bet though.

WHMCS has a lot of bugs. I am thinking strongly of changing to CE or Modernbill

CE is a very solid piece of software. We are moving to Ubersmith though.

Have you tried that one Mark?
It does look good - but! - Doesn't quite hit WHMCS.

yeah, WHMCS has a lot of bugs, but updates are regular and a lot of hosts offer free licenses

I'd recommend Clientexec as its cheaper and less buggy.

We're going to Ubersmith DE to automate the connection between the servers, switches, and PDU's

Im using ipanel.

After a minor issue in the begining (due to my own misunderstanding) it works very well :D

After some research I've narrowed my list down to: ClientExec or AccountLab Plus.

Though I have some doubts about AccountLab Plus because it seems to be older software but from the demos and stuff it looks to be a good piece of software, anybody have any inputs / have used it before?

I just think WHMCS isn't worth all its hyped up to be...over used and over priced to me.

Fine, don't take my recommendation of Ubersmith. heh

I gave it a serious look but I think its a little more than what I'm looking for right now. No need to go overboard and get something that I'll never use more than 5% of its capable of, that's what I have photoshop for :p

I don't know about only using 5%, but it is more expensive than the other panels. They don't really tailor for the cheap crowd, I guess you get what you pay for. Some people need panels for different reasons.

ModernBill all the way.. its a lil complicated to get use to at first but its by far the best :)

I also use iPanel. Its system works well, its fast, not complicated to configure and is cheap. I use that and it has never let me down.

I think Ubersmith is pretty over the top for most Mark, for some it's an ideal solution though :)

Dunno If I'd like to tie everything to one app all the same, if it goes pear shaped then it's a serious problem.

WHMCS for me :D It seems to be rather popular with most web hosts.

Do you do AccountLab Plus integration? Thanks,

I would not recommend Account Lab Plus, even though it is cheap.
I have used it & have found it to be very slow, & it lacks many necessary features.

We at LaceHost recently shifted to WHMCS, & the best thing about it is the support, you get replies within 10 min.

Can you expand on that? I am still deciding, and from what I can tell (demos) it is very similiar to clientexec in terms of features.

I have never tried ClientExec, so I cannot comment on it.

AccountLab Plus (ALP) is very good in terms of pricing & for offering it to your reseller customers (just a server-wide license for you & your resellers)

But, the ALP interface is not good enough, as our clients told us. WHMCS is faster in terms of page loading, & the interface is very very good.

Also, ALP has some bugs/lack of features like,
1.) When a support ticket goes longer than 2 replies from the clients, you cannot view what the client has posted, you have to check it from your email. (I am not sure if this has been fixed now)
2.) It does not auto suspend/terminate accounts.

And many others, I don't remember them, as I used it quite some time back, & maybe they have been solved now.

Hey,

Ubersmith is really good in my eyes, the only downside is that it requires PHP4, not a big issue. Ubersmith gets my vote!

Just spotted that on their forums, good point Jason, that is actually a big issue if it won't work with php5.

Couldn't find a requirements for it either - probably why.

Just collecting every penny I have to get that great software. Man, I have already started to dream how life would become easier after getting that installed.

If you are looking at it, I might as well suggest you to see Parallels (formerly SwSoft). They have complete automation, client pays and gets servers instantly :eek3:, I think. I too want it, but they are picky about who becomes their customers - unfortunately they turned out on me. pirate2

WHMCS is good as long as it is integrated into Kayako's eSupport.
