I have censored all names so that this post doesn't get deleted. For those who didn't realise it check for something in bold in the quote. You'll see what I mean. Anyone got a host more rude than this?

pain in the ---!!!!!!

That was their entire reply? :confused2

Are they a bunch of 10 year-olds or something?

Looks like it. But that was not the entire reply. I sent a complaint to the director and I can't wait to see his reply. I demanded an appology. ROTFLMAO

"treat others how you want to be treated". Sure.. you had the right to complain, but why do it so rudely at first? You could have been a little more mannered. instead of saying "your php is outdated, it has too many bugs, i suggest you update it". you could have said "i noticed that your PHP version is outdated and that current version has many security holes. I was wondering if you could update it? Thanks"

I was once a webhost, i recieved the same emails. Except it wasn't Dim8's fault.

My host is pretty good. especially considering my first payment was a month late.

In this case, i was trying to get a script to work with no luck. i tried everything i could think of to get it to work, including reading the error message, contacting the creator of the script, changing settings on my server etc.

the reply:

Most of our customers solve this problem by reading the error message.

Also make sure that your script was uploaded in ascii mode.

Joseph

I replied to them with a rather tersly worded account of my fruitless attempt at using their substandard service, and how their "tech support" could use a little help.

I didnt realize that Steve was the owner of the host. I had just flamed the owner of my host. It was fun, and he phoned me up and apologised. Joseph is a prety cool guy.

demented.org is definitely the rudest host on the internet. For evidence, just go to their forum and see how their 'moderators" tell people who make suggestions and complaints off.

Thats true but it shouldn't be outdated anyway. Not by a year. Their comment was close to swearing and I found that unacceptable.

That prooves how crap this host is. I find it unacceptable how they can say something like that back. They did say to me its because its on an nt server but I believe very much its the way everything is set up.

I believe every bit of it roly. I'm changing a.s.a.p. Just got to force them to give me my money back and make them transfer the domain name. That could be harder than you think.

Gayowulf

Don't force them. Ask them politely, state your reasons and give them proof.

Sell them on it. You will be a lot more successful if you are nice than if you are rude.

cheatpark
March 22nd, 2002, 18:12
True. I'm hoping to use what they said as an excuse to leave them.

Well most people here know who my host is anyway. I suggest that you all stay away from them. This thread shows why. I don't think I need to explain myself more.

Here's an update. I've been sending them loads of e-mails. They didn't reply to the one asking for an apology however they replied to all the other e-mails. Typical, eh? Also I'll be sending you a pm now with the name of the host.
