View Full Version : Question about infractions

I wanted to make a comment on this in that thread Adz posted, but it was locked.
If you get an infraction, how public is it? Because I checked to see if I could see that Adz had one, and I couldn't see anything (I didn't search all that thoroughly, but you would think you wouldn't have to)
So if in fact they are not visible to the public, what would the point be to argue about it and try to have it revoked. By starting threads about it, that's how you know someone has an infraction.
I would think if you value your reputation here, you wouldn't draw attention to it. (I have no value for my own reputation, so I can't say that I'm correct there, it just seems like common sense)

AFAIK only mods and the user themselves can see the infractions that they have.
I agree, getting all pissy about an infraction that perhaps was slightly too harsh is unnecessary. I can understand about a ban, but an infraction? Nah

This is what I thought.
Basically, I don't get it. Just leave it alone and pretend it's not there, and no one will ever know.

That's not true, most of them think they're ------ and brag about them in General Discussions. You know, because it's cool...

Nah, only a minority do that. You only think it is most cos you see them. You don't know about the majority who don't "brag" about them :D

I am infraction free:o I'm mod material;)
As for adz, I can understand his point of view - no one likes to feel someone above them is taking advantage of their power - but I don't agree that was the case here.

I'm the opposite of JohnN - I have more infractions than an un-antivirus-protected computer used to surf porn sites has viruses!

Thank you all for helping me make my point :p
Although you're probably right Jan, this group here is just a minor fragment of several infractees

Mistakes happen. Its not like you get banned for your first infraction(unless its major)
I've had some to. But jan and Peo are cool :)

I've had my share - but all fair comments.
Wouldn't boast about them though, it's a private matter between member and admins/mods, making it public is like bollocking a member of staff of a company in front of co-workers, just not done.

Yeah, I think if I was to get one, I'd probably keep it quiet and maybe even leave the forum I received it from out of shame.
