Pointless? It wasn't for any serious purpose in the first place. Up till today, it is still not for any serious purpose.

It is just for fun, and fun needn't be purposeful, especially if it's harmless.

I've had a lot of silly reps too, and I am sure I will continue to get them. That, however, does not result in me wanting it disabled.
