Am I Welcome?

I made a new member introduction, and when the staff got around to replying, I didn't feel welcome.

I don't know if this is the best place to put this thread, but it kinda is feedback.

And at risk of getting an infraction my second day here...

Since it was an admin that replied to my post, I would have at least expected something like "welcome to the forum!"
instead i got a rude question about me wanting to copy the forum rules and adapt them for my own.

i always assume that when a staff member is having a bad day when i get replies like that.

My feedback is that I think that the staff should be more welcome to the members here. I've been reading random threads and the staff just isn't very nice.

No actually you asked if you could copy them, you simply had it pointed out that it would be inappropriate, and a bit lazy :wink2:

i'm actually pretty cool about most things, so this isn't a big deal

i think this situation would have gone better if i were welcomed, and then they said that. its something you should expect from an admin; they're supposed to be the most polite of all the staff

or maybe i'm off in my own la-la land on this one.

Exactly. All forums are different and many of what applies here *could* only apply to a similar hosting forum.

As you'll find out in the course of your life, this is ( rightly ) how most of society responds to a question, that is; with an answer.....

Sorry you felt in your first post that the staff were being rude.
As was pointed out, Jan was simply giving an answer.
You will find during the course of your stay here at FWS, that all members are treated equally and with respect, unless they deserve to be treated differently, for example, they break the rules.
