View Full Version : CentOS 5 32Bit Libraries?

I was wondering if anyone here knew how to install 32 bit libraries on CentOS 5 x64?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm unable to run WHMSonic. It creates the accounts etc but when it comes to starting the shoutcast servers, they won't start and the problem is that it's built for 32bit.

I've contacted WHMSonic support and they told me to take backups then have CentOS 5 32Bit installed instead. As much as I'd love to do this, it's just not the sort of thing I'd like to do since it would mean a lot of downtime.

So... Does anyone know how to do this?

I've read on the shoutcast forums that a few have managed to do yum install ia32-libs but yum can't find that package.

Not sure if this is any help, but maybe you can try running `yum grouplist` and seeing if the 32-bit libraries are a group? I would test it but I have no access to any 32-bit systems.

Same here, I'm on a 64 bit server. I'll try that now and hopefully something will be there. Thanks :).

Sorry, meant to put no access to any 64-bit systems, it was 2 am so.

I've tried allsorts now but can't seem to get shoutcast to work. You'd think they would have compiled a 64bit compatible binary by now.

Thanks for your help Brandon. +Repped. :)

You would think, is Shoutcast open source? Maybe someone else has converted it to 32-bit.

No unfortunately it's not. :(
