Hey,
I've come to a semi-conclusion on Data centers now.
My theory is as follows;
They suck you in on month one, then screw you the next. I believe this from past experience with two data centers really.
Anybody else care to share their views & reviews?

LOL, well maybe you need to stop being so cheap!.
I have dealt with 10 data centers my whole career, not once have I had these problems. My main question is are you dealing with an reseller or an actually data center.
Edit:
Okay actaully lets determine what a datacenter is, because iv seen so many people complain that there datacenter screwed them over but really it was a company that screwed them over.
Datacenter: The location servers are at, they sell only colocation space etc.
Company: These people buy space from the datacenter and sell there servers. Some may own a small datacenter but chances are they dont.
Resellers: These people sell the companie's servers located at the datacenter.
So please before you complain about a datacenter insure thats what your talking about.

Feeling hard done to I'm guessing :)
DC's are buildings full of racks and cables (loads of other things obviously).
Like Josh I've dealt with several, some only co-lo, some provide servers themselves.
Some are the cream of the crop, like GNAX & Savvis, but you will pay for that service. Some are not so great and really cheap. So which one do you want?
You can't tar them all with the same brush because you've had some bad times, I've had bad ones too but clock it up to experience.

I think its a problem not just with data centers, but with many companies online and offline.
Your royalty, untill they have you locked into somthing, then you become a number.

Hey,
I've had this with Pacific Rack, the first month was truly amazing, fast ticket responses, the whole lot. After month one, tickets slowed dramatically and I noticed that their reply to sales e-mail could take up to 10 days and they have little communication between each other.

well, they are a business, they do have to attend to everyone else they host.
don't expect the best, and you wont be disappointed next month.

Hey,
Someone shouldn't set a standard they can't keep!

but, you set a standard yourself. in the end, no matter what business, you will always be put back in line for the next new customer.

Unfortunately that happens all too much. It happens more with larger companies though.
