Hey guys. I'm not a proper company offering free webhosting, but I've got a pretty major excess of space on my current hosting plan. So, I'm willing to offer anyone here a subdomain and e-mail account of their choice on www.shock-therapy.org . The only caveat is that I'd like to know a little bit more about your project.
I've hosted a fair few things that I'm interested in, the latest being Archival Science (http://archivalscience.shock-therapy.org) (which I ended up writing most of the log submission / browsing system for too). If your project involves some kind of script which needs a MySQL database to run, I can install it for you. However I can't give you access to PHPMyAdmin I'm afraid. PHP etc comes as standard, and feel free to make use of .htaccess files for whatever you want. You'll get a proper FTP account of course, and the e-mail is POP3 with a web-client if you want it.
Let's say for the sake of argument somewhere around 2 gig of space, and maybe 20 gig bandwidth per month. I can easily go for more, if you have an interesting project that you can talk me into, but over those base levels I may ask you if I can slap up a few AdSense ads or something. Same if you want a proper domain name, I can get them fairly cheap but I'll have to ask for an ad or two to cover the cost.
