This is what I get on an Laptop I own. It's running XP Pro SP3. Any ideas what I can do? I've tried a lot of things, won't even work in Linux.

Remove the USB ports & hub in Device Manager and let the system find them again.

Tried that too, still says the same thing.

When I talked to HP about replacing the mobo they said it'd cost like $410 :o

Have you tried removing the chipset drivers the same way and letting them reinstall the southbridge driver might be goosed?

OK, so no USB device will work on your system at all - or - the USB device wont work on any system you plug it into? Sounds like you are dual booting

If you plug in a powered usb hub and plug the device in that will it work?

Could be that the device is dead.

May need to mount it or assign a drive letter to it.

OK, so when you go into disk management can you see it in there?

I was gonna say the same thing, in more... stupid terms.
