I'm getting $300 for graduating high school, and I don't owe anyone any money... so it's all mine :)

I want an LCD monitor, and a video card.... However, I'm a picky person.

I use my computer for several hours a day, I'm kind of a loser like that. I'm getting a job soon though, so that will all change, but pretend like I'm not.

Heres my options. I've double checked the pricing, so don't say that I don't have enough money.

1- 19" LCD with 1GB video card
2- 22" LCD with 512mb or 256mb video card
3- 19" LCD with 256mb video card, and buy gifts for my friends

Heres the dilemma though. I don't need a 1gb video card, I just want one, because I want an awesome system.

I'm leaning towards option 2. The video card then would just be however much I can afford in a video card. I could get a cheap 22", but I dunno. I'm not sure I want to go cheap when it comes to something so important to me.

Holy ----.

Well, #2 might be impossible now.

My cheap video card supplier just went out of business. Literally... Today.

We're talking... brick & mortar store. PC Club :(

advice taken though, I'll probably end up with a 22" and some form of video card.

Don't try telebid, it's essentially a scam.

Measuring video cards by megabytes is retarted. For example, I'd rather have 256mb of 128bit GDDR3 than 512mb of 64bit GDDR2.

Yeah, and 1 GB will only really come in handy if you have a HUGE monitor, otherwise, their isn't much use for it.

I've pretty much decided that I'm going to get a 22" LCD. I actually got some measuring tape and looked at how big it will be though, and I nearly shat myself.

As for the video card, I'll just get whatever I can afford after the monitor. When it all boils down, I just want one to take a load off my ram, and to be able to play games better. All my games are pretty simple though. Sims2 is the most resource-intensive one I play.
