I had saved one long assignment on a word document (Microsoft Word 2007) and had assigned a password to it, so once the document is opened, it will ask you for a password in order for the user to see its contents.

Now the problem that im having is whenever i open it i keep getting this message (http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2264/word2007ug8.jpg)! I am 100% sure that the password i am typing in is correct. I have tried all the solutions mentioned in that diaglog box and nothing seems to work. at one stage when i tried what you call recover text any file, the document had opened but all the contents came out different (http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/6668/worddocuks6.jpg) to what i had previously! I had tried opening it up with another software such as notepad and etc, but no luck at all.

Any other solutions would be great thanks!

Judging by the error, the file is corrupt. Looks like you'll have to start from scratch. Try typing it in notepad and saving it first then copy the text to word and saving as a .doc. If it break again, you still have a copy.

Is your version of Office 2007 up to date? Make sure you have all updates (+ SP1) installed onto Office 07, then it may load right. I had this problem, I updated it all and it worked.
