Great movie, great acting....really emotional and makes you feel like you are actually experiencing what is going on in the movie.

Anyone seen Waking Life? It's not really a 'drug movie', per se, but that doesn't mean drugs don't help it.

I loved Requiem for a Dream. I think it should be played in all the "DARE" programs we have in the US in elementary school that are meant to keep kids off drugs. For once its a movie that doesn't glorify drug use and shows the entire spiral from occasional use and light dealing for extra crash to hardcore abuse and its eventual consequences. And it shows it so artistically too. A must see!

Yeah, I'm sure the 5th graders will especially like the "--- to ---" scene.

DARE is the reason I got into drugs.
Curiousity at an early age, and they provided the knowledge about different drugs outside of the "devil's weed."
Not that drugs are bad.
And Tree: YES. Awesome movie. We watched it for my philosophy class in fall 07.

It's not about what the 5th graders want to see, its what they must see. As of now drugs are glorified on TV and in movies, Requiem for a Dream paints a more realistic picture.
Stop painting drugs as a bad thing.
I'm doing just fine.
[edit]
Not that 5th graders should be using. Far too young.

Just watched it. Bloody fantastic. Loved the music (that orchestral piece was really something), the filmography (some of the best I've seen), and the deep somewhat intricate storyline.

Just watched it. Pretty intense. Moving. Music was fantastic, downloading Kronos Quartet's music now. Very creative filmography.
