Yes! Its finally done, my computer has the new parts and works. Well, sort of. I can at least access my Fedora Core 9. I still, however, cannot access/boot into Windows XP. I can still see my files, so I know they are safe, but thats it.

Does anyone have an idea on what I can do?
Here are a few things that won't work:
1. I cannot boot into windows
2. I cannot boot into windows safe mode, or any other mode
3. I cannot boot from the windows cd

Comments and ideas would be appreciated. Hopefully I won't have to get a new hard-drive. If I do, its gonna be a 500GB SATA, and I'd just turn this current one straight to full Fedora Core.

I was just reading something about this a few days ago, I can't remember the correct details, but it was something about Windows partion being affected by the Linux (Same applies with Mac OSX) partions screwing up the XP/Vista partions, the only way he could fix it was to uninstall everything, because he could only boot into one OS. If I was you, I'd backup your data through Fedora, then re-install everything to save yourself time.

Can you boot of ANY CD?
IF not, first thing to do is check the bios to see if it has CD set before HDD as the boot device.

Also, if the machine already has windows (specifically XP) on its HDD, did you recently upgrade the BIOS? Windows may not boot (and give a black screen) if you upgraded the BIOS when the windows is expecting the old BIOS to be present. This doesn't happen with all machines though (It may happen with eMachines or Gateway.)

It also could be that Windows may not have the right HDD Driver, unless you're using Vista. XP didn't come with Intel Mobile SATA drivers =/ Also, have you tried creating a DOS System disk on another machine and booting the floppy?

In that case, the windows cd would still boot but it wouldn't recognize any disk drives and fail. Did you make any significant hardware change?

Well, I got everything working. Had to reformat the hard-drive completely. Everything went poof. But, windows XP works. I may put dual-boot back on.
