1 MB file-size limit
It can help you protect your server, and
40 GB of space for ex, need upload 40000 times.
:)) So intelligent !

And 1TB transfer! I would love to know the reseller package he uses to allow all his users to have that ;)

Yes, it is to protect against abuse. Of course, if someone has a real need for a larger filesize, they can contact our support department, and we would consider raising the limit for their account. This is not something I would want to do often, but might consider under extenuating circumstances.

Sain Cai, of course you should know that a reseller package would not handle something like this? The 40gigs.com service is run on our own cluster of servers. It is funny you think there is a reseller account behind it all. :)

Zac, again - we would consider increasing the limit for people who really did need it - they just have to contact our support department with their request, and the reason for needing the limit increased on their account. Also, I thought hosts could not respond to another host's offer?

The 1mb file limit he implemented says it all, no one will ever used up all the 1TB transfer limit not even close, unless the hosted site is getting 1 million unique visitors a month and everyone tries to download a 1mb file.. these are just some of the overselling techniques and tricks. ;)
Zac
Technically you could use a program like Filesplit to make 1000-1MB files ;)

Sain Cai,
Yes, that would work. And it would be a very good solution for our users who needed more than the 1 MB filesize limit. For those who need it, the link is http://www.partridgesoft.com/filesplit/ . Thank you, Sain Cai, for pointing this out.

Is it giving you an error or anything? There have been 100+ signups overnight, so it is working for most folks it looks like. Let me know what sort of error it gives, and I'll help you sort it out.
