August 27th, 2008 -- In exciting news today, free hosting provider 40gigs.com ( http://www.40gigs.com ) has gone ad-free. The service, launched earlier this month, has acquired a long-term sponsor which ensures the long-term financial stability of the service without advertisements on user pages. Previously, the pages of 40gigs.com users contained ads in the header and footer.
The new advertising arrangement will work as follows: The sponsor will receive prominent positioning on the 40gigs.com Website. The positioning will include graphics or text, linked to the sponsor's own Website. In addition, the sponsor will receive premium placement in 40gigs.com newsletter mailings to users.
