View Full Version : I Am Sure You Will All Be Happy

I have decided that I need to spend more time working on DeiseHost and looking after the few clients we have left, than spending time giving people a hard time here for breaking rules.
I have posted in the Staff area that I am stepping down as Moderator for the following reasons:
1. As mentioned, I need to dedicate more time to DeiseHost
2. It is not fair, me being a host and Moderator, for me to judge other hosts and dish out warnings and infractions.
3. It will stop people -----ing about how "The Moderator should not be allowed to advertise"
4. It's what most of you want anyway.
So, as soon as Peo is ready he can flick the switch.
Now, stop the -----ing and whining. Once Peo does the job I will be one of you again.
I will say though, respect the Staff here. They have a huge job looking after this place. You would never realise it until you see it at first hand.
It was an absolute pleasure working with them.

Why would we all be happy :(

3. It will stop people -----ing about how "The Moderator should not be allowed to advertise"
I suggest you ask those if they could name a forum where moderators aren't allowed to advertise.
You have been a great and consistant moderator and I for one would hate to see you leave because of a few griping members. All forums have the "anti-mod brigade" who say they get infractions for "nothing", that moderators should be seen and not heard etc.
Maybe if we treated them like the DP mods do occasionally, they might learn to appreciate us more :p

That post is class. Fair play to him. :D
But seriously, it's not just about the begrudgers and all that crap, it's more about focusing more on DeiseHost and another project I am involved in locally that kicks off in January.
DeiseHost has failed miserably this past month and I need to get it back to where it was and belongs.

Come on Dan, that's not fair. Best of luck with deisehost anyway

It's a shame to see you step down from moderator but I hope you're able to get DeiseHost back to the way it used to be.
Maybe you can become a moderator again once you get some more time.

Hey Dan,
You're a great guy, shame to see you leave the team, you're always around and easy to PM :D
Don't let people push you into leaving, you can still focus on a business and moderate, but only visit the forums when you get an e-mail saying 'Post Report' or to advertise.
Best of luck anywho!

Moderating is something we do when we have spare time, it shouldn't be a priority when you have personal/business stuff to take care of :)
I'd be lucky to have spent an hour a day here this last week as I have family up visiting and I have been spending as much time as possible with them.

Agreed, whenever I see reported post, I go to the post and look at it. If need be, I take action.

I've never had any friction with you (Or any other Mod/Admin), but good luck with DeiseHost.
And you forgot to follow the "Swedetastic" rule when mentioning the Swedetastic Peo.
I'll fix it for you.
So, as soon as Peo is ready he can flick the Swedetastic switch.
Now, stop the -----ing and whining. Once Peo does the Swedetastic job I will be one of you again.

That was not referencing the swedetastic Peo, so that is incorrect. That's almost an infraction Dan...tsk tsk

If I wasn't nice, I would almost infract Dan for not referring him as the Swedetastic Peo.
