Hi ^^
I've got a friend who has a shop, right? He comes to me, and asks if i know a software like the ones big shops use, which has inventory, codebar reader, and the likes...
But i don't have any ideas on how to start looking for something like that :ninja:
Anyone knows of any?

I'm not sure, but something like this? http://www.microsoft.com/uk/dynamics/products/rms/keyfeatures/default.mspx?WT.srch=1
Most big businesses get them custom coded, since they have the $$$.

lol, that seems to have pointed me on the right direction: point of sale software xD
Thanks a lot, Dynash :P +rep
EDIT: You must spread some reputation around before you can give to Dynash again -_-

A shop like retail or a shop like mechanic?
Theres more specific programs out there depending on the specific type of business. I personally like Quickbooks Point of Sale, but some people like Microsoft's better.

Look for QuickBooks Point of sale. The small aquiraim shop my mom use to work at and I helped the Register and such. Thats what we used and it supports bar code scanners and recept printers and all that. Its not cheap tho be warned

I'm between QuickBooks PoS and Plexis PoS, but the last one seems to be rather complicated...

A basic POS system is not hard to make in Visual Basic at all, I created a POS system for a shop (With full barcode reader support, offers, etc, all the standard features) for my A Level coursework years ago.
