Which firewall would you recommend for a Dedicated Server, ConfigServer Firewall or APF?

CSF is maintained on a regular basis.

I guess I made the right decision then. :) I was just wondering as I currently use CSF but I always see APF being offered for installation by server management companies.

APF was good when it first hit the market, but it's very rarely updated and it's features are limited compared to CSF.

CSF is an awesome firewall, but the truth is, it absolutely sucks when it comes to DDoS attacks and packet flooding.
APF and BFD handle these sort of attacks much better than CSF does.
With that said, if your DC offers DDoS protection, go with CSF ;)

Ive have always used CSF, never used any other firewall so I could not really compare it to any others out there.
And while your there maybe try out CS explorer, great tool.

Why does it suck when there is DDoS?

My vote for CSF also. Great product updated often, and it even plugs into cpanel :)
