Limestone Networks has opened a new dedicated hosting facility and data center in the DataBank building in downtown Dallas. The facility features all-fiber connectivity, multiple connections to the power grid, redundant power and cooling systems, and multiple security layers.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) November 8, 2008 -- Limestone Networks, Inc., the Dallas-based dedicated hosting company has opened a new data center in the DataBank building in downtown Dallas.

The new Limestone Networks facility features all-fiber connectivity to the Internet and the latest in power, cooling and security systems.

"This is probably the most secure data center in commercial use," says Gary Kendall, CEO of Limestone Networks. "The DataBank building used to house the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. In 2000, it was thoroughly renovated to take advantage of its inherent security features, creating one of the most desirable facilities in the US for the server hosting industry."

Limestone Networks has applied the most rigorous standards of design, testing and maintenance to their new facility to ensure maximum security and uptime for the critical data and applications of their clients. The facility enjoys:
* Six utility feeds from the Dallas Central Business District power grid, featuring reliable N+3 transformers with ATS switches, plus secure, concrete encased building feeds.
* UPS and Generator Backup Power using true A+B power configurations
* All UPS and Generator deployments provide N+1 redundancy provided by
* four 800 KVA MGE UPS systems
* two 1200 KVA CAT UPS Systems
* four 2.0 megawatt generators
* three 1.5 megawatt generators
Security for the new facility is maintained through:
* on site security, 24/7/365
* card access required to enter parking and building lobby
* biometric hand scanner required for data center entry
* annual SAS 70 Audits
A consistent data center environment is maintained by an HVAC Cooling System designed with N+1 redundancy and featuring
* 3500 Ton cooling tower capacity
* a multiplicity of 30 Ton Liebert CRAC Units.
* 80,000 gallon reserve make-up water tank
* Liebert Leak Detect System

Says Kendall: "We believe that our customers should never have any concerns whatsoever about the security, reliability and integrity of their hosted data and applications. That's the reason we built this new facility."

Looks like Limestone is getting pretty big and popular. Also, it is a nice touch they used a bank as the new spot.

Hey,

Personally, I think that they've only done it through MORE investment which means they're tied with a huge wad of 'debt'.

So they have two DCs in the same area now? I don't see the point :/ They could have at least moved it to another city/state - like The Planet do.

I heard from someone that they're eventually going to move all servers out of Infomart over to DataBank, is that true ?

I wonder why don't LSN accept colocation despite them owning their own DC.. Their reseller pricing is pretty high too.. :(

Are they deploying new servers here? I think x10 just got some from this datacenter.

From what I was told they are going to be moving all there servers but not any time soon. And they are deploying into databank already.

Amaresh&[x10]Brandon I think that better look through their web sites for the details or announcements. I believe that no one better then them know about it.

Skylar said they were moving them all over, but Kris said they aren't.

Pretty useless if they don't move them over, don't you think?

Hello everyone,

We have indeed launched a new facility in what was once the safe place for the US governments money! (So you know it is well secured :) )

Having multiple datacenters in Dallas works to expand upon the already great connectivity this prime location offers, as well as providing additional expansion and redundancy opportunities to all of our clients.

These are very exciting times indeed!

Kindest regards,

~Ryan

How can we tell if we are in this datacenter or another one?
