hi.

I am a complete rookie with websites, hosting and so on but not at all so with computers.

I am a choreographer i Belgium. I want a website on which i want to present my work, some smaller videos, some photos and text. a mail-service would also be good. I do realise for free space I do probably need to approve of ads on the site, that´s fine as long as they´re not overcrowding the whole place.

I planned to use drupal for this. but i need some space.

can anyone recomend me hwo to turn to and how to proceed? If you think i should do some homework first, please tell me where I can do that.

and sorry for the ignorance.

i appreciate any help.

cheers,
Robin Jonsson

Hi Robin,

I think you've posted this in the wrong forum-directory.
Can a mod move this thread?

PS.
You say you're belgium. Do you speak dutch or french (so will your site will be in dutch or french?)?

It's fine where it is. He is asking for advice and recommendations, not offers.

Well, actually you could do some homework, or you could ask for advice here :wink2: (and we'll be glad to give you some).

To start with, you already mentioned drupal.
Do you know what it is? Do you know how to "install" it?
(It's not that hard, just upload it and run the installer)

Have you ever used Cpanel, Direct Admin, or any other control panel?

If the answer to both this questions is yes, just ask for a little account in the appropriate sub-forum, and you'll be able to start quiet fast.

At the moment there are several things you could do to get free hosting: make some post in a forum every month, allow ads, or be satisfied with a small plan.

Good luck!
