Schmarvin, I would like you to clarify this matter in public.

http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2215100

You claimed that I said "You're basically useless."

When did I ever say that? Even if I ever did over MSN, I'm sure an :P would've followed suit.

Also, what about the expectations you said?

Thanks for the offer though. Maybe, once I learn something to live up to hamster's expectations, I might enter the business again.

When did I ever set any expectations for you or badmouthed your skills at managing a free host?

I am quite sure that many of the older members would have been shocked that I would actually do such a thing to Schmarvin, which is why I simply MUST clarify this in public.

Please do reply ASAP.

I can't see how you'd call him useless, your not that kinda person?

Personally, stuff like this is just over-pushed up, and Schmarvin is just trying to put you in the wrong, for all we know he could be making it all up.

Adam.

PS: Don't bother -rep'ing me for this, everyone's entitled into their own personal opinion.

I would prefer to let Schmarvin have a say in this before anyone starts pointing fingers.

I do admit, that I might have accidentally typed something similar to that to him on MSN, but I definitely would have added an :P behind it.

I know Hamster and he would never say anything like that... Or would he?... :P

As I said, the purpose of going public is to clear my name of all bad impressions that statement has given me.

Hamster I don't think anyone honestly believed that. I know I didn't. Maybe you said something like that kidding or just said something and he took it wrong. Who knows.

Over-reacting a bit?

From the replies to the Announcement Schmarvin made they were deleted and closed, I could see that some people were obviously swayed by his statement about me.

I know I definitely did put a :P after that.

Anyway, did you really think I had the slightest expectations of you? As I recall, you're always the one initiating the conversations on MSN, asking me to look at your site and stuff. I looked, saw the removal of Justin S' myBB theme copyright and started to shun you as you refused to admit it.

I do believe the hints I gave out that I didn't like you were quite obvious. Anyway, that's besides the point.

In any case, if the word "failhost" has insulted or offended you in any way, I do sincerely apologize for it and I would just like to tell you that I did not mean it in a serious manner.

Huh?

Anyway, I just got my brother to help me check my logs back at home (I'm overseas now) in my old hard disk and it shows that there's a :P after the "you = failhost".

Don't really care about this argument BUT simple lesson to life. Every "joke" is always filled with truth. When someone adds ":p" after it, it is just a stupid way of taking off the edge of the spoken words. It's kinda like "no offense, but...". What you are saying has offense and by saying "no offense" does not make it any different.

Learn from this and move on, both parties.

Can't we all just play nice? :)

Obviously, there was a misunderstanding, which lead to Schmarvin thinking that hamster had a problem with him in some way?

I think that you guys should just make up and get on with it, because arguing the point anymore isn't going to help anything and I'm sure hamster didn't mean to offend :bandit2:

Yes Tang, :P is to remove the edge off words. That's why its crucial in this "debate".

I just hope Sean understands that I didn't mean it in an offensive manner.

I disagree. Some people do it and dont mean it at all.

Im the kind of person who insults my friends in fun, they are mostly the same.
Sometimes these insults may have a basis on fact, but usually its just guys talking trash.

That's what I mean...you say that you meant it in an none offensive manner...but you still meant what you said. You never said you didn't mean what you said.

Ruling out the offensive point of view doesn't mean that I mean what I said.

This is the difference between real-life interaction and online interaction. You can't tell when someone's saying something in a joking manner or a serious manner until you ask.

It's the Aussie way

Let's put this little baby to sleep now.

Moral of the story, be careful what you say on IM, you never know when some one will make it public.
