Hello ,

I have just started a webhosting company and i want to know how some of you become big . I know one of them is advertising and offer cheap & low webhosting prices .

Currently i sell at quarterly but I'm wonder how you become big?

It's not the price that draws long time customers in, it's you and your support. Go an extra mile for your customers, and they'll stay with you.

That's not necessarily the case either. As I did that, and still had few customers. Most chose larger plans at various 'dodgy' host for the same price as mine.

Advertising is the key to generating clients. Keeping them is a different kettle of fish.


Advertise like crazy (without spamming of course).
Provide a service that you would look for yourself.
Do NOT Oversell
Be realistic with plans and prices
Respect your clients. Without them you have nothing
Provide fast and friendly support
Be professional when your clients are being nasty to you

The list could go on. But follow those simple guidelines and you should be right.

What I suggest you is to target a niche. You will never win if you were to compete with those big hosting providers which has big advertising budget and oversells massively.
You can start by targeting local businesses who still does not have any website and even provide them with web design and web development as an added service.

Time...

That is the secret to hosting, it is all about time.

You need a niche and target market, time, and lots of patience.

Well No. You just wait and wait, and buy as much advertising as you can afford (I suggest selling an organ. This tends to help, unless you run out) :evilb:

Well... It was a good pancreas and I resold it to some Chinese lady for soup... Made me a bit of cash ;)

Hm, a lot of people have a problem like that. :D
