Im with Hamster.
Ive got a few official warning emails for things as im sure have many other hosts, and that email seem rather unprofessional in comparison.

Add to that, cia.com is an ISP, so his email coming from there means nothing.
It looks like dnsexit.com possibly just provides some mail hosting for these people.

Im not 100% sure, but id say its a fake.

EDIT: Lmao, ye hes right, its a screen saver.

Fake. The writing is worse than a 5th grader and the phone number is incorrect (has an extra digit). Don't worry about it. Besides, I doubt the CIA would send you an email, they are more of the type to break down your door and talk to you face to face ;)

If it is really CIA I believe they would have give you a call, an official letter or give a knock on your door. Relax mate, this is just some of those spam-hoaxes which you will receive everyday. ;)

LOL.
If I got a dollar for each time I received this ---- while in Ireland I would be a rich man and probably severely CRUNK!

We don't have CIA in Ireland. So that triggered that straight away.
It's bull mate. Don't even bother your --- responding to them. Unless, of course, you have something to worry about? :P

ya...um its fake. Enough said. I get emails almost daily saying my internet is gonna be shut off for illegal use if I dont open the attached .zip files and answer the questions. Inside the .zip file is a .exe and I have not ran that yet maybe if I get bored some day I will run it on a vm or my old laptop with no network connection :P

Definately a fake email, I don't know why you're so worried. :P

DanTheMan
November 26th, 2008, 08:32
lol I thought the Secret Service handles internet crime more than the CIA?

But don't worry about it, it's spam,

1) They gave you a zip file for a screen saver, more professional CIA people would have given you a link to a pdf.
2) CIA Headquarters is not in DC it's in Langley, VA.
3) US numbers have a 3 digit area code, followed by a 3 digit prefix and the last set of numbers should be a 4 digit number, the dude gave you a 5 digit number
4) CIA and FBI aren't best friends, so they wouldn't live together lol. Check this out: http://www.fbi.gov/contactus.htm

Same address, this spammer is really really stupid.

Your fine my friend, if you wanna confirm please call your local American Embassy. :D

JAN : I had reported
Zipfile : It's one tends me to say as fake.

JSH : why you're so worried
If it may be true ,I may be called as an international criminal and my life will be spoiled :)

Finally concluded it is a SPAM

Thanks to all comments

Fax or a phone call. Take it seriously. Anything else... "report SPAM" is the key! (or more of a button).

Since when does the CIA do anything about Child Porn and Warez? Normally the FBI. CIA is intel and spying, not a police force.

I loled at this thread.
