I want to have my domain pointed to my home ip address instead of the server im hosted on so i can run my site off of my computer how do i do this.
Not sure if this is in the right forum sorry :(

register in afraid.freedns.org
point ur domain to them,
then at the a record, point it to ur own IP address

If your IPs change regularly, you will need to contact your ISP and inform them what you want to do. Bare in mind, some ISPs do not allow this for some reason. However, if they do, they will need to give you static IPs.

You would enter your IP in the A record of your domain at your domain registrars website.
It's recommended that you use a static IP for this.

I have a static ip so it doesn't change and im running fios business which covers running my own server

I get "Connection Reset" from accessing it. So I'd make sure that your computer isn't using all it's resources.

I'm unable to access it. You may need to forward port 80 to your server/computer that is running the web service. You can do that in your routers config.

okay im not gonna do it after all close this thread if you want. Only reason was that port 80 was fowarded and it wouldn't work for some reason :(

Sorry you couldnt get it to work... Maybe someting was wrong in your configurations...
