I have finally got it in to my head that not a single free host meets my needs, so I am going to go for a paid host, however, there are several things about the host that I need, IT MUST be a UK company, this is so they are easy to contact. As I am in the UK, IT MUST support solo, IT MUST be cheap, IT MUST allow forums. Here are the requirements:

50+ MB
PHP4
MySQL
Full CGI-BIN (Perl5 etc..)
Lots of bandwidth (due to forum) at least 2GB or unmetered if posible.
Free Domain Transfer (.co.uk domain)
Unmetered E-mails [E]
20+ Autoresponders
20+ E-mail Pop accounts.

thats about it, anyother things.



Please only give me UK hosts, I will only work on a UK host cause I can contact them easily.

£5-£15 a month, no setup fees (or a very small setup fee) Just so you know what I mean by cheap.

What kinda of a forum you need hosting? Majority of hosts don't allow Ikonboard & UBB.

phpBB, I was using ikonboard previously but I know want to use php, as the majority of my site is going to be in php, but there will be a couple of cgi (perl) scripts, not to large hoswever.

Why are you so keen on a UK host for contact. Alot of hosts have Live Chat support and you can contact them just as easily through there...

In my opinion there are not many good uk paid hosts. You would be better going with a host overseas which will be cheaper, still easy to contact and in general a lot better.

I need a host that supporst solo payment, as I dont have a CC, if there is a way of paying a US host with a solo card I am all ears. The contact was just a pluss as I prefer to phone rather that e-mail/on-line support, but if there is away I will gladly take it.

do they support solo though, cause it doesnt say they do on their site.
