Creating a Community [Archive]

What is the best way to create an active community for your web host? This would probably make the host look more active. I have 117 members (many more have been deleted for inactivity/rule breaking) but only 1 forum post that was not mine. I do not want to do post2host because I do not agree with that system, many people don't have the time... suggestions welcome!

Well, one way could be to have all users sign up on the forum before applying, that ways more people might become active on the forums.

Another way might be to give people incentives to post on the forums, such as ad removal etc.

Reward vs. Penalty.

"Only one post that is not yours"... I am sorry to hear that!

I have observed some small net groups lately, and it is a challenge to get going. But instead of punishing people for inactivity, can you reward them with upgrades for good posts?

My modest experience says if you get a couple of Seeder Posters going, the other members will chip in their occasional comment.

Why did you delete them? Now you have no records if they signup again. That's no way to build a community.

Think of as an online community as a real community. You don't kill off rule breakers or those who don't talk to others do you?
