If you had to buy a laptop in the 10-12" screen range.
Would you go for the new atom netbooks or older stuff.

I'm currently debating between a Lenovo Ideapad S10 or an IBM Thinkpad X40 (1.4 Pentium M from 2004)
Both will end up at about the same price.

The planned usage is mostly just connecting remotely to my workplace if I get a call and am not at home. Remote desktop on my phone's 2.8" screen is no fun :( heh
But I might also do some webdev. Absolutely no gaming involved.

I tried finding some comparision charts between those 2 cpus with no luck.
Anyone got any suggestions?

I would deffenitly get the Atom. Newer so hopefully it will last longer. And it should end up being faster. [correct me if I am wrong]

The Atom is a lot faster than I thought it would be. I have it in my netbook and it can run quite a few applications and still be stable. Definitely go for the Atom. :)
