My site gets DDOS attacks sporadically, so I need to be with a hoster who can ensure uptime.

Check with buzzservers (http://buzzservers.com). I know they offer VPS protected network. I would almost recommend a Dedicated Server however as if your being ddos you may get bounced for causing load issues etc.

I know this is out of your budget but I highly recommend http://www.staminus.net/?link=order for DDOS protection I was at sharktech.net and my server was down every day due to ddos then moved to them and I had warnings sent everyday from their firewalls saying I had been ddos'ed but the server hardly ever went down so they have a A+++++ approach to killing ddos in their tracks.

Sharktech.net are cheaper and alright but kinda stupid, they cant filter ddos as well but wont give up trying.

eitherway, if you are reciving ddos you are best to go get a dedi otherwise you will prob be suspended or affected by everyone elses ddos on the vps node..

Additionally, you're hosted out of the XLHost.com datacenter which has NO ddos protection. I'd be careful advertising something like this without actual DDOS Protection as your host could pull the plug on all of your customers at the sight of an attack.

It depends on the attack. SharkTech does a pretty good job of blocking attacks, although web-based attacks are not their specialty.
