To make a long story short, Crosswinds deleted my whole site around the 9/11 period. Needless to say, I was heartbroken, but that's the way life is. A lot of it was backed up, but some wasn't. However, I have just found an archive site and got it all back! So for those of you who lost stuff in the F2S fiasco, check out this site:
http://web.archive.org
You just have to put in the URL of the page you're looking for. Good luck to all.

Already mentioned before, but anyway, I say it is a good idea, unless you have files. But web.archive.org does not backup all your links in one day so you may have some trouble doing it.

I like looking at how my site has evolved through the years.

Heh... here's the ad-free free hosts I had listed on my site on December 6th, 2000: Freedom2surf, ARealCity, CyberCities, Intelcities, ROTFL.com, Angelcities, ABC Host, Brinkster, Veoweb, Free Speech, Crosswinds.
Left standing (and ad-free) today: Brinkster.

I remember that thread. Pre-Paraguay days when we were still looking at Guam and Argentina for free domains.
Still haven't heard back from either. :D

It has good points and bad points. Personally I prefer these types of forums, as it takes forever to read even one thread of a wwwboard forum.

note that webarchive doesn't have every page saved. Typically they have the main one (index page) and sometimes a bit more but I was actually surprised they had some of the old forum pages at all.
