How much space & bandwith does the average free file host use

I have had one in the past, in Dutch.
It took about 300gb space and 4TB a month.
But I think that when you do that in English it should be worst.

Giving almost no income.

Filehosts are brutal, far more than typical webhosts. Webpages are generally small-ish, because they're meant for people to do things with/at/on. Filehosts can explode - "Let's RightClick/SaveTarget 400 files at 82 megs each!!"

I understand why those places have "we delete your file in 30 days" policies, but I design for durability, and I'd rather my files last a year.

You can use your own personal file host at much lower space and bandwidth. If you use it just for your personal needs, 2~3GB of space and 30~40GB of bandwidth should be enough :)

Files hosts are very very bad I think.

Most uploads are mostly warez etc.
