Yes, I bought a new micro hi-fi thats 340watts, and from JVC two days ago...

But I was wondering whether it is an old model or a new model, my model is UX-M6V. I can't find any good information on any of the popular search engines, so if anyone knows anything about this model, please tell me about whether it is new or old.

I can't even find anything on the JVC website...

Yeah that's all I found too. It's probably where he bought it from though... I'm guessing it's an older model since you can't find any info.

I have a JVC MX-J900 (http://www.wholesaleproducts.com/jvcmxj900.shtml), and it's an older model, but it still kicks some serious ---. I love JVC products.

I didn't buy it from SAFE Superstore, i bought it from Best Denki.

Well if its an older model, won't other sites talk about it?

The salesman told me its a new model, but you can't really trust them. Probably the oldest model they sell, they will say its the newest.

Not likely. Places usually get rid of reviews of products after some time.

mine is probably not that ancient, it supports all PBC functions of VCD, CD-R/RW playback, karaoke, mp3, remote control and all the nice stuff.

even Yahoo doesn't list it as a product and JVC doesn't list it but probably list older model because I saw UX-M5R and UX-M3R which looks similar to mine.

I think mine is newer as it has more features, but no site except safe has the model listed.

Well I bought the thing 2 years ago, so the model was less than a year old when I got it.

sorry for digging this up, but this is what they responded:

Dear sirs,

Thank you very much for purchasing UX-M6V.

This model is new model which has been released early this year.

If you need more info of this products, we can send you its brochure.

Please inform your address.

Best regards

Can I believe them?

Does it actually matter? If it sounds good to you, and it does what you want it to do, what matter is it if it's the latest model, or a fabulous dinosaur?
Just as a side note: The power output of an audio amplifier is one of the least important values. Total harmonic distortion and noise levels are a much more critical value. I noticed they never mentioned either of those in the ads.
