Well, another one bites the dust. I'm not really a happy user, seeing as how I paid $70.00 to register a domain to get to use their services. They knocked a bunch of stuff off the free hosts and want you to pay for the good stuff.

The NEW free web host page lists the features as follows:

10mb of Disk Space This used to be 35, as I recall.

FTP access to your account Nothing new.

x 500mb of Data Transfer per month - (10,000 page views) This is new. Limiting data transfer like this sucks. What happened to everyone signed up who gets more that 10,000 page views a month?

x Your own CGI-BIN - (real domains only) Nothing changed here

x Our B-Commerce Solution
(fraud protection, secure server, and your own merchant account virtually free!) Thanks, but I'm not selling anything

x Server Side Includes - (real domains only) nothing changed here

x PHP4 Support - (real domains only) Nothing changed here

x No Banner Ads or BootBox Ads - (real domains only) Still one of the best parts of the Bootbox service.
(we sure appreciate it if you mention us but it is not a requirement)

x Your own fully functional webmail portal - (real domains only) Nothing new.
(offer FREE webmail from your site with the format of user@yourname.com)

x Unlimited e-mail addresses (username@yourname.com) Nothing new
(Backed by our partner Everyone.Net)

Okay. Great, now for the things that mysteriously turned up missing.

x MYSQL - This is the big one. This is the reason that I signed up. Nowhere on the signup page did it say that it was "currently unavailable" or "still in development". It said that you will receive MySQL service. I am willing to forgive a small delay because of the nature of technology, but this is unacceptable.
x ASP
x XML

Am I mad? Yes. However, thanks to their bulletproff Terms of Service, there ain't nothin' I can do about it. Great.

Could any of you out here host me? (I'd need MySQL/PHP) I'm at http://www.digitaldiscourse.org

Thanks.
