Tripod support CGI, Perl. What do you mean it is hard to install Yabb?? Maybe you just didn't know how to install scripts. They are on a windows server, so you don't have to change mode for your files.

BTW, they don't put ads on your script.

Wow!!!! What a clever boy!! Everyone here knows that tripod's cgi, has its limits! That's why we are asking if everything went smooth with the installation...

I can't understand why someone would want to install yabb on tripod anyway.

Where on earth did you get that from? A server that can run perl Perl doesn't mean they are on a UNIX. They are on a solaris. I said they were running on windows isn't right, i was just testing you guys out. ;)

The site www.tripod.com is running Apache/1.3.12 (Unix) on Linux

Any one tried CGI/perl with http://www.tripod.lycos.co.uk/ ?

its apache unix style. since linux pretty much is unix it uses the unix version. You could emulate apache in unix with wine but why would you want to do that?

Yep, so how did you know Tripod is running on Linux?
I never said they are running on windows. Apache can be run on windows and unix, so that doesn't mean or point out tripod is running on the unix server. Plus I couldn't find where they said they are running on a Unix system on their site. I think they are running on solaris since I have wrote a perl script and checked that.

very nice, if only tripod didn't have bandwidth limits the forum could actually be useful!
