im not too sure what does anyone know the difference is between resellers and affliates

the reason i am asking is because i am interested in fast servers affliate (http://www.fastservers.net/partnerships/affiliate-program.html) program that off 10% recurring discount does any other provider do this too if so any other greater discount than 10% percent?

would that be a good idea for a hosting company to do or not best to go as a reseller?

Reseller - you buy and then sell. If you will not be able to sell you will lose the money.
Affiliate - you work as sales rep of the company and have commission. As much you are able to sell as much you will earn

Dedicated server is expensive thing. If you are on the reselling you need to be sure you will be able to sell it in the near future.

They offer one month's revenue and 5% recurring revenue. It is just affiliate program, you don't have to offer support or anything. Just refer and enjoy!

If you have developed web site with audience which is target you'd better go for affiliate. If you are getting started I suppose reseller account is better
