How's this deal?

Hello!

I have never head deals with dedicated hosting, and currently I need some standpoints to realize if thу deal I name is reasonable and cost-efficient.

The host (hostv) offers the following:
Core 2 Duo 6600
4GB ram
800GB (2x400) HDD
15000GB monthly bandwidth
Fully managed, long list of availiable features, cost - $300/mo.

So is this a fair price for such server?
Any other options to compare with?

How fast is the port? 10mb/100mb. Shared/Dedicated? Location? DC?

From the bandwidth, it seems to be a 100mbps. Pricey imho. You can get better deals than this.

It seems like you don't have any server management experience, which will be a potential problem in future.

It will be better to have something like semi-dedicated plan.

Even cheaper can e found. What is used for drives? SATA or SCSI?

The deal is ok. As you do not know much about management, do find out what they are actually going to provide to you in the management service.

Most of the companies will include what they are going to offer in the management service.
