View Full Version : Bittraffic.com Review - What a load of crap!

On 27th August I ordered a XEN VPS at bittraffic.com, after seeing Ashley (I think username .oa. or similar) recommend the service on a thread or two.
I made a Paypal payment right away after ordering. After a few days of nothing happening, I decided to open a support. The ticket was opened on 1st of September. Two hours later I got a reply from "Eric Dust" outlining that they needed me to verify the order.
Now this sounded rather strange to me for a normal VPS account, but nonetheless I followed the instruction provided on http://bittraffic.com/?cmd=verification. Their fax number didn't work, tried it from two different places, so I decided to just email them a scanned copy of my driver's license.
After I did this, they stopped replying to me, my VPS is not yet setup and today I got a reminder email that I will need to pay the bill for next month.
So for all I know this Eric fella has my driver's license number and photo, name, address and phone number is doing some major identity fraud under my name on the Internet.
I will also be opening up a Paypal dispute but I doubt that gets anywhere because it is a virtual service.

Yeah they look dumpy. I saw their website layout on a free templates site before. Further, I'm pretty sure that logo was made with a logo generator of sorts. Gives off an amateur vibe to me.

That is ok. As rule web hosting providers are not good at web design at all

I have attempted to make contact and rather hostilely.
This is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
I WOULD never put my name in something I thought would turn out like this.
However I expect it will be resolved ASAP cause I know Eric does care about clients.

Thanks for looking into it .oa.
I've actually got a VPS elsewhere now and no longer require this one.
But it just really pissed me off because I had to stop all my web development while waiting for this VPS to be setup and after a week or so of nothing happening, I ordered a Xen VPS at VPSLink and it was setup within the hour.

Ok, I will tell him you want your money back.
I have the same idea with you. Great!
Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

Ok, I will tell him you want your money back.
I believe you shouldn't get offended about that. In any way that is life and impossible to have all customers satisfied with the services

No. I lodged a Paypal dispute a few days ago, but they are yet to respond to that as well.
//EDIT
Just read this: http://bittrafficstatus.com/2009/09/11/fast-thor/
How can they just loose a server? Sounds like a case of non-bill-payment-server-cancellation to me.
Also I just checked and this thread is the top result for Bittraffic Review keyword.
I reckon they just didn't have the resources to setup a Xen VPS, therefore decided that if they ignore it, it will go away.
//EDIT
Also after searching for backlinks to this thread, I found this thread which has some interesting information as well. The domain in question there seems to be owned by Eric Dust as well.

hes not going to fight it he said your have your money back shortly.
Hi Ashley,
This order was not processed due to no payment verification as requested. http://bittraffic.com/?cmd=verification We greatly apologize for the delayed response. The person who has ordered this VPS has already done a reversal via PayPal so they will have their money shortly. We are back to full speed and we are adding more technicians to our team. I had experienced some very serious personal issues which caused new orders to be delayed along with some ticket responses. We are adding more staff members and expanding BitTraffic for the future. We greatly appreciate your time and business and sincerely apologize for this issue.

Update!
Received an email from Paypal regarding the matter, it contained a lot of bla bla, but had this piece of information in it.
We have decided in your favour, however, we were unable to recover any
funds from the seller's account.
...
Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future,
and will take appropriate action against the seller.
