I thought this could be interesting to see what people think of templateOne's design.

The site itself isn't bad, a little too much open space, stray text, etc... but the prices?!

Does anyone really pay for basic layout templates?

A very nice site with a simple interface.

- Center the bottom copyright message
- Nice use of reds
- Overall nice design

I agree with aquatix. The templates are too basic and I wouldn't pay for them. Were they just example templates? Most of them looked very similar to me too.

I agree I wouldn't pay for them either... I think you should work on the layouts quite a bit so they are worth that suggested price.

Very very nice and professional, but it could use some more graphics.

The actual templates featured on the site are way too simple. It would've only taken a couple minutes to make each one.

With the site design I was going for a simple, clean, fast loading look, Is this a bad thing you rekon?
but I do see your point and i agree it is a bit white, maybe ill throw in a small bg pic somewhere

With the overall templates I was going to have a mixture of low cost simple templates, and the much higher detailed ones and ofcourse higher priced.
Is this a good idea or should I just go for the higher quality only?

Thanks again everyone for you comments
very appreciated :)

Yes, that's a good idea. Just don't start marketing your site too much before you get the better designs up.

Another negative point.

"Your buttons here" and "Your logo here" appears on most of them.

Don't you think people capable of making "buttons and logos" would be capable of making their own site?

On the other hand, I doubt that the people buying your layouts will (if they are inexperienced as it would seem) be able to make anything worth using in the banner/logo/button area.

Out of curiosity, how many of these layouts do you sell? (per month?)

Thanks for your comment.
To answer your question, yes I agree with you when you say "Don't you think people capable of making "buttons and logos" would be capable of making their own site?"

I will be making major alterations to all the templates aswell as adding a few new ones within the next week or so.

And how many we sell per month.?...well we have only been open for 2 days so I cant really say hehe

Could I ask everyones opinion on the creation of buttons/logos. Because if I make a logo for the template, and if they have no expeirence in making logos at all, how would they write their own business name in? Should I offer to do it for them?
Same idea with the buttons, if I did image buttons, how would they customise it? Itll be pretty hard to do any decent buttons and really my only option would be to have text links, unless of course I offer to customise. Which I think sounds like the best idea at the moment.

Thanks for your comments everyone

Try making buttons and logos where text (regular type, within the html) can be placed over the top...
