Hi guys~ well this is actually my first time with "web-hosting" so i have no idea what I need to do.
I basically bought a new domain through godaddy
and probably my next step is to find hosting?
I'm just planning to try out my domain and mainly use it as a blog
but first of all, want a free host that I can try and use.

So like many other thread that I have read, what is a reliable free web-host I can try out? Thx!

personally I stay away from hosts that offer ridiculous amounts of space/transfer. I cant imagine blog generating too much, so probably around 250 space and 5gb transfer is fine.

My personal favorite host is Namepad, though there are several others here as well. I would list a few I refuse to deal with, give it the amount of space they offer, ads that trip virus/malware alerts, etc but not sure if such posts are allowed.

Most hosts should be very willing to help set up the domain.

I would also steer clear of auto sign up hosts, since alot of abusers can sign up quite easily. Again this is my personal preference.

If you don't want to buy hosting, check out the free hosting section. But, since you want to host a blog, there are wordpress hosts to help you. :P

ok~ so i finally got access to login into Namepad.
Now a quick question. I ordered my domain through godaddy.com. Do i have to do like a domain transfer to namepad or something or can I just operate everything from namepad. ?

x10hosting.com should be good enough.

You need to set the name servers to point at the hosted domain. The host should be able to tell you what they are. It'd be somewhere on the control panel under "add domain" or something like that.

Regarding GoDaddy as a registrar, I've used them for many years, and I like them less now than when I started. Prices went up and they keep trying to push extra services on me in the control panel. Last domain registration I went for name.com, which cost a bit less and included a free privacy option (which costs money on GoDaddy).
