Above topic on another website tells of an annoying story that will probably never be solved. Can someone please help?

Have you tried http://portforward.com/ yet? That usually helps me to setup my hardware for port forwarding. It should also help you configure your DMZ if needed.

I have a WRT320N, and the application isn't listed there, so no, it won't work, sorry.

Got off Charter chat, and they will NOT help me. Their support is limited only to Charter equipment. So if they're blocking ports, I cannot host; and I'm pretty sure they're the ones blocking the ports.

On the contrary, they aren't blocking ports. It seems... my router is being a jerk, it won't allow people to check if a port is opened or not, it makes you assume it's opened.

I just found out why the port checker won't work, for reals.
My Router... when I set a port forward, only puts it so that port is available on the computer.
IE, my computer has an IP address of 192.168.1.101,
if I set my router to forward the port of 7234 to it (the above IP Address) then the 7234 port is opened, FOR THAT IP ADDRESS. However, if someone tries to connect to me via the Internet, they can't get to me, because the router can't tell the user's computer to go to that IP address and port. When I use my IP address given to me by charter, people access the router's control panel (192.168.1.1), not my computer. How can I tell the router to tell the internet to use my computer instead of my router's Internal IP?

Tricky and gotta love the Charter support - I recall working for them..
Anywho, as I see from ( http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT320N/CarbonCopy32.htm ) you should be able to specify the private IP address that you want to forward that port to as you already have:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT320N/WRT320N3.jpg
If your computer's ip is being reported in ipconfig as 192.168.1.101 then setting the port forward to this address should be sending them to that device via NAT on the router. As long as that port is being used, to my knowledge.
Question, when people are getting the router's internal page are they trying to use the port as well or just the public IP? Also, this port checking tool (http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm) may be able to help.

Well, now that it's working mysteriously, I need to make sure the port is actually working. So I'm having a friend test an XtremeWorlds client for me, I can't test it myself because entering the Router's public IP address won't work for me (nor will the no-ip domain.)

Indeed, let me know how it goes. :-)

Well, it works. I could make an XtremeWorlds MMORPG if I desired, lol.
