Sometimes it can take longer.

I've had to wait more than a week for one of my .com's.

If a registrar is not automatically registering your domain when your credit card is authorized, it can indeed be registered by someone else between the time you apply for and pay for a domain, and the time it gets registered.

Automated domain resellers/registrars will result in immediate registration for your domain name.

Some are automated. Some are not.

from my experience, I had no problem with registering domains from Registerfly, but their site and tech support is sooooooooo slow....

I love statements like this.

All of Anything rarely exists in the real world.

There are many domain registrars who manually process credit cards - particularly if they have been bitten by fraud or chargebacks.

I know of at least a dozen - many you will certainly know as well - who do not process any domain registrations automatically, and they do many hundreds a month.

We process automatically, and we require full address verification on credit cards. It results in some people getting to our order screen and then not coming back, but it reduces fraud and chargebacks enough to make it worthwhile.

ahh ! you know what I mean . about whom we are talking about here ? godaddy, registerfly ...etc. all these register the domains in a few seconds. this is clear, right ?

also if you do not use a CC of course they will not register immediately. this is something that even not needed to be talked about
