My needs are very simple but I have some specific preferences and I'd like to know if there are any well-known, stable services that do what I want.
Space: doesn't have to be much, say 5 mb (more, better)
Fast
As few ads as possible, unobstrusive single banner preferred over pop-up windows
Interface: I don't know how to do FTP, all I've used before was a browser window where I paste in the HTML from notepad
subdomain preferred, simple address perferred

Tryed www.geocities.com? 30 Megs space, banner on the right side (you can do some adjustments on it), fast, haven't seen it down for years...
HTML Interface too...

Thats 15MB, no subdomain, slow, downtime big, no subdomain, not a banner a damn dhtml ad

Last time I looked, Geocities only had the vertical one on the right. They used to allow banner placement...:rolleyes:
