How many users/posts per day would 5gb bandwith a month support if i'm using a board such as OpenBB?

Please don't reply if you don't have a constructive answer. If Akalon wants to use OpenBB that is HIS choice.

I agree with Jan. Openbb is the fastest board so I'm guessing it uses the least bandwidth. Other boards however have more features. I would estimate however openbb page load on average is 15kb. This is a guess so I'm not sure if I'm right or not. I'm guessing that openbb could do 11k impressions per day with 5g bandwidth.

hmmm ... i recon freewebspace.net uses about 10 - 15 GB a month .. to give you some idea ... maybe abit more :)

I thought it would use a lot more. The whole site gets 2 million hits a month apparently. But then maybe it makes sense. Remember though that vbulletin and openbb are different and use different amounts of bandwidth. I'm not sure by how much though.

Yeh ... but how longs a peice of string ....

I wouldn't worry with your 5 GB data-transfer limit though ....

However if you put alot of images on your forums ... maybe worry ...

you might need a dedicated server if you get loads of users like fws.net :eek:

Just FYI, OpenBB is the fastest forum, free and commercial. (it's faster than VBulletin) :)

OpenBB is the fastest? Where's the documentation? Were you just simply "observing" the speed of it? What about server load at the time, active users, mySQL queries, etc.? :rolleyes:

Leoboard is rather slow anyway...And why would any non-Chinese person want a board that's in Chinese? You couldn't understand it! And most of you probably couldn't understand enough Chinese to find a hack to make it English. :D But I like Leoboard's features nonetheless.

FWS.net definitely uses more than 10-15 GB. I would estimate that it uses 200-300 GB of transfer a month.

Wrong. All fws.net has to do when each page loads is connect to the mysql db and get the posts, forums, etc. Thats why its so fast. If it was using a flat file system you would notice a big difference.
