My cable internet was down for the duration of the superbowl. Either they took it down so people couldnt watch brodcasts from the US or there was such a high demand it was down.

No offence or anything like that, but i doubt that you missed much.
In my opinion, football ranks up there with curling, golf, and watching grass grow on the boring meter.
It just seems less like a sport and more like an advertizing medium for a bunch of beer companies. Its too publicised, padded and pathetic for me.
Anyway thats just my opinion. dont hate me for it.

Well, all sports are commercialized, probably too much, but it doesn't bother me much anymore. True, last night's game was boring, but only because it was (once again) a very lopsided game. If it had been like the 2000 or 1998 super bowl, I would have enjoyed it a lot more.
On top of everything else, the commerecials sucked big time. I did like the "squirrel running" and the e-trade one with the monkey looking at all the defunct .com buildings, hehe.
All the anti-smoking ones were annoying. Guess I just don't like the fact that nobody takes responsibility for smoking, it's always the cigarette corporations fault. I hate to tell these people, but they made a choice to smoke, not the cigarette companies. I think the tobacco companies are somewhat responsibile for these deaths, but for some people to just blame them and no one else is mind-boggling to me. Well anyway, I'll stop ranting now.

Thank you for saying that!!!! I don't get much "enjoyment" out of the superbowl but I do like watching the commercials! :) I live rural with no cable and only a small town local channel which by law must run Canadian commercials, so when they blacked out the only network channel on my sat dish which carried the game (again another stupid law) I was really ticked! :( If the commercials were bad at least I didn't miss anything lol

I liked the commercial where the guy throws a pencil through the ceiling and it goes through like 4 floors into an meeting room right into and American businessman's --- and he stands up and says "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" and all the Chinese business men stand up and go "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!", then you see the guy laying belly down on the stretcher in the ambulance with the pencil sticking out his --- through the sheet.
I feel out my computer chair laughing like a mo'fo'.

http://www.adcritic.com for the commercials :)
My fav. was "What are you doing?" and the Alien Whazzup, lol. The cat herding (from last year) and the Squirrel running this year are from the same company, but I still don't know who they are, or what they do :(
Most of the people in those smoking ads were old, and probably started smoking when there wasn't as big of a pressure on it, or Surgeon Generals Warning. The point of the commercials is to sway people away from smoking, by showing them the aftermath, while blaming tobacco companies at the same time :\
Oh and the etrade monkey was funny, pretty nostalgic, goes way back to the Crying Indian commercial.

american football isn't a sport, its a brawl, and if it is a sport, its is pussy sport. they have to wear all their plates and pads and all that ---- and they still get hurt. even though i hate rugby, its much better than the superboel.

Yeah rugby kicks. I play it. there arent really too many rules. most rugby players turn into retards after playing it for awhile, so it has to be kept simple.
Another cool sport is hurling, and lacrosse is cool too.
