The thread was locked because it was turning into a flame war.

I've seen 4 threads been locked because Giancarlo asked for it.

I think they needed to be locked. GC did good. :cool:

They were necessary to be locked... there wasn't any choice otherwise. I asked, and the moderators felt that I along with many other people were right. The threads were just flame wars.

How about a flame board??? Seriously, think about it... make it so that threads cannot be started in it but threads in General Discussion that turn into flame wars can get moved there so that it is not inappropriate to continue the constant bickering. :p

I take it you haven't been around for long then? :p

Maybe they are locked if anyone asks for it but mostly it's the same person. ;)
