i forgot...there is a site ...like if there is a hosting company say ABC...so if i want to check there speed...i put there website address in this unknown site(which i forgot) and it tells u the speed of abc company..there like response time...not sure..but its something like that ne one know?

Dou you mean ping? If so go into your msdos prompt or run bar in windows and type while connected: ping SITE URL

then you should get a lot of responses or none at all depending if your system is set up right and the server is up.

For example i just pinged freewebpace.net by typing:

ping www.freewebspace.net

And got this result:

pinging freewebspace.net [49756946026] <--Is the ip address (you cant copy and paste in msdos so i'm just giving a rough example)

then all the replies with time taken to reply are shown. 4 replies should be present for optimal server. Do this on each host and the host to bring the reply quickest is indeed the faster host at that time.

Wrong you can copy and paste in ms dos. There is a button you can click on which can be used to highlight something. Then you click on the copy button and paste it to where you want.

but you can only do that when your are in windows, and working in the black dos window.

I always use http://alertsite.com :) It has quite a number of free features you can use.
